Malondié unveils its Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Power of She, in a radiant celebration of fashion, beauty, self-expression and South African creativity.
The South African luxury fashion house welcomed Spring at Pere House in Midrand with the unveiling of its Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Power of She an immersive celebration of femininity, individuality and the many ways women choose to shine. Hosted by award-winning media personality Pamela Mtanga, the afternoon moved beyond the traditional runway, creating a world where fashion, beauty, music and performance came together in a distinctly Malondié expression of womanhood.
At the centre of it all was founder and creative force Londeka Buthelezi-Ndaba, whose vision for SS26 is deeply personal. Inspired by memories of fireflies illuminating her grandmother’s garden and the transformative warmth of the morning sun, she found a poetic language for the different ways women carry their light.
Some women arrive unapologetically radiant. Others glow quietly, drawing you in without ever asking for attention. Power of She honours them all.
Translated into fluid silhouettes, contemporary forms and considered details, the collection speaks to the woman who is constantly becoming. She is confident but not confined by confidence. Soft without surrendering her strength. Unafraid to evolve, take up space and define beauty on her own terms. And perhaps that is what makes Malondié so compelling: its understanding that fashion is never simply about what a woman wears. It is about how she feels when she wears it.
That sentiment found a natural beauty counterpart in Malondié’s collaboration with Vaseline Cera-Glow, brought to life through the theme Follow The Glow. The partnership explored the intimate relationship between feeling good in your skin and expressing yourself with confidence. On the runway, the fashion house’s sculptural and feminine looks were complemented by luminous, healthy-looking skin — creating a beauty story that felt less like an accessory and more like an extension of the woman herself.
The collaboration also introduced Vaseline Cera-Glow’s Glow Dolls Lerato Kgamanyane, Naliyani Uma, Bakang Mangoenyane and Robyn-Leigh Mentor who stepped onto the Malondié runway in specially curated looks selected by Londeka herself.Each woman brought her own presence to the collection. Different energies. Different expressions. One shared understanding: there is no single way to shine.
Then, just as the afternoon seemed to have reached its crescendo, Malondié delivered one final surprise.
Acclaimed actress Gugu Gumede emerged as the closing look, bringing with her the kind of effortless presence that needs no introduction. Known for her commanding work on screen and her recent international success in Netflix’s The Polygamist, Gumede embodied the collection’s central philosophy with quiet authority.
And perhaps that was the most fitting ending for Power of She. Because the collection was never really about choosing between being the sun or the firefly. It was about understanding that both forms of light have their own power.
In a season defined by new beginnings, Malondié offered its own invitation: follow your light, however it arrives.
