MAISON LOUIS VUITTON PRESENTS SUN SONG: An Ode to Light, Art, and the Endless California Summer

Maison Louis Vuitton’s Cologne Perfume Collection is not just an olfactory experience it is an open-ended love letter to the West Coast. A poetic voyage penned in scent, each chapter celebrates light in its many forms, from dawn’s gentle shimmer to the gleam of a summer night. At the heart of this luminous journey lies Sun Song, a fragrance that captures the soul of California with radiant ease.

It’s a Grasse native’s dream to work with the most beautiful of orange blossom extracts.

Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud

Inspired by the city of Los Angeles in all its contrasts and its effortlessly laid-back glamour, Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud invites us to discover a fragrance that feels like golden hour bottled. Sun Song is a modern anthem to endless sunshine, turquoise skies, and the feeling of sun-warmed skin, an uplifting perfume that enhances, extends, and celebrates summer itself.

In creating Sun Song, Belletrud returned to the roots of his craft with one of the most delicate and joyous blooms: orange blossom. Combining neroli, orange blossom absolute, and petitgrain essence, he composed a bouquet that’s simultaneously soft and vivid. “It’s a Grasse native’s dream to work with the most beautiful of orange blossom extracts,” he says. “Sun Song dons the colour of summer but keeps it alive forever.”

The brightness of lemon harmonises with the floral notes, adding sharp, uplifting clarity to the composition. Meanwhile, soft musks form a sensual backdrop, giving the perfume a caressing, lingering warmth. “The musks act like a soft veil over sun-kissed skin,” notes Belletrud. “The fragrance is a melody, a moment of brightness suspended in time.”

The artistry behind Sun Song doesn’t stop at scent. The bottle is a visual ode to the West Coast, designed by celebrated Los Angeles artist Alex Israel, known for his bold colour gradients and reflections of Californian life. The vibrant yellow-orange hue mirrors the golden rays of sun and the lens of oversized sunglasses—Israel’s iconic artwork, “Summer,” becomes part of the fragrance experience, turning the flacon into a tactile sculpture of light. A reimagined bottle trunk in translucent plexiglass with a yellow-orange gradient finish cradles the fragrance. Embellished with Louis Vuitton’s Monogram motif, it reflects the aesthetic of a sunglasses lens, a playful yet refined detail that echoes the spirit of summer exploration and design-forward living. Sun Song is more than a perfume; it’s a radiant mood. It is for those who chase the sun, who live in colour, and who savour beauty in every detail. In typical Louis Vuitton fashion, it blends artistry, craftsmanship, and emotion into a seamless expression of joy and freedom. With Sun Song, summer is not a season. It’s a state of mind.
