On 30 October, inside the soaring halls of Cape Town’s Zeitz MOCAA, Foschini celebrated its 100th anniversary not merely with nostalgia, but with a visionary conversation; one that placed the South African woman at its heart. And the voice leading that conversation was unmistakably Rich Mnisi.
Curated by Anelisa Mangcu, the evening opened as a living gallery, a walk through a century of Foschini’s archives that traced how generations of women have dressed, dreamed, and defined themselves through change. Mnisi shared. “This collaboration was about speaking directly to the women who raised me, inspired me, and continue to shape this country; the women who see themselves in Foschini’s mirrors.”

Auctioned by Strauss & Co, the couture creations raised funds for Move Africa, supporting menstrual dignity for girls across the nation – a tangible act of empowerment beyond the runway.
For Foschini, marking a century with Mnisi was not just a celebration of longevity but of purpose. It signalled a future rooted in accessibility, creativity, and the belief that every South African woman deserves to see herself reflected in high design.
